Session 1A

Coaching excellence - what does it mean?
Karen Frost, Values Based Leadership

There's a lot of talk about the benefits of coaching, but what does excellent coaching look like? This session will explore the components of coaching excellence so that attendees can set their sights on its achievement for their organisations.

The session will include a live coaching session by Karen on a volunteer's real life work issue; this will last about 20 minutes and the volunteer will normally have been sourced in advance of the session taking place. This will be followed by an interactive discussion on that session and finally some observations on what to look for in your coaches - including the importance of coaching supervision for ensuring coaching excellence.

Karen Frost is the director of coaching for Values Based Leadership, an organisation that works closely with businesses to develop their managers leadership skills. In the past 4 years Karen has developed her skills as a coaching supervisor and trained with the Centre for Supervision Training. She combines coaching senior managers with coach supervising other qualified business.
