What do your talent want?
A fair portion of Millennials (the largest generation currently in the workforce) are probably planning to find a new job after the pandemic ends.
Now, whilst they won’t all do it, the impact of having such a large segment of your workforce looking to leave rather than stay is going to be huge. And of course, they’re not just Millennials – they are your managers, your leaders, your succession plan.
We all know the pandemic has encouraged us to rip up the rule book. Pretty much all of us has rethought aspects our lives. And, for many, this has meant a shift in focus from money to meaning.

I’m not saying that your people are preparing to denounce wealth all of a sudden, but I am saying that many will no longer pursue it at the expense of their health, their relationships or feeling fulfilled. And I’ve got to be honest, I’m over moon about this.
Seriously, if allowed I’d be dancing in the aisles because it finally means we are going to start leading people as human beings. Finding ways to help them do a good job and thrive outside of it. And the first step? Get to know them.
Get to know what they really want. What they say about their job when they are with their mates. When you know what they want you can think about giving it to them. Surely that is a key driver of any talent strategy?
